ABOUT PROJECT
  • Homeowners – newlywed Hollywood producer and high-end art collection manager couple.
  • Project goal – To transform a cold architectural space into a warm and inviting home featuring artistic, high-end furniture, rugs, and lighting. All pieces were to be authentic, unique and interesting, yet very comfortable.
  • Art – owner owns photography collection featured in the Getty Museum. Many of these famous photographs are featured throughout the house.
  • Textiles – A neutral fabric palette of various textures was selected keeping the focus on the brightly colored photography collection.
  • Style – the couple loves the American Crafts style. You can see this reflected in all details of their home from their artwork subject matter to the stitching details of their area rugs and sofas. They are very concerned with the authenticity of pieces and pay close attention to detail and quality.
  • Lighting – All recessed light fixtures were updated to low voltage lamps. Art spot lights were installed throughout to accentuate the client’s photography collection.
  • Furniture – All furniture is high end & authentic. Final furniture selections included pieces by Pucci, Holly Hunt, Vitra, Knoll Studio, Poltrona Frau, Herman Miller, Lignet-Roset, Cassina, Carl Hansen, and custom pieces by various artists.
  • The homeowners enjoy entertaining guests on a regular basis. The house’s open plan allowed for a variety of dynamic furniture groupings that create a fabulous entertainment space.
  • The kitchen pantry, garage and all closets were custom designed to fully maximize all storage spaces.
  • Views – House has large glass windows fusing the interior with the beautiful exterior mountainside views.
  • Landscape – Converted a simple yard of grass and concrete into four distinct, useable areas – the perfect party house.
  • Landscape Features – 1. Custom wrap around sectional & fire pit, 2. Architectural, layered water features & fountain with stainless steel runnel, 3. 12-foot diameter multi-directional umbrella, dining for six, and architectural plant selections.
  • Outdoor Furniture – Paola Lenti and classic Richard Schultz pieces create a dining area & various lounge area groupings.
  • Exterior Lighting – Lighting was placed throughout to highlight new plants, design elements, and walkways around the house.
  • The couple fell so in love with their newly-designed landscape that they changed their wedding location to be in their own yard.
