Project Description

East Side Dr

ABOUT PROJECT

Situated in the “hip” Travis Heights area of Austin, TX, this homeowner has an obvious appreciation for unique art, composition, and contemporary furniture! The house was move-in perfect so Velvet’s focus was in creating vibrant spaces that would highlight art and music while supporting the clients “less is more” life-style.

In the living room, you are surrounded by the exquisite colors of a picturesque Tuscan landscape by German artist Linda Leupold and a life-sized orange fiberglass Contro Vento sculpture by Italian artist Davide Dall’Osso. The magnificent Steinway piano balances the space and complements the iconic bent plywood curves of Danish designer Hans J. Wegner’s Shell Chair. The otherwise neutral space inspires conversation, and has a comfortable understated elegance.

Additional focal pieces throughout the home further the colorful and artistic theme. Note the perfectly mauve Italian bedding in the master bedroom that complements the soothing colors in the 45” Sandra Dahdah photograph, sixteen brilliantly hand-painted artisan fish from Mexico that “swim” through the stairwell, the original flower art in one of the girl’s rooms, and or course the whimsically suspended rattan chair!
