About the Project
In order to transform this spacious master suite into a cozy retreat, we selected a neutral but rich color palette. Deep golden-brown and taupe paints are balanced by crisp white, creamy beiges, and soft blues in the upholstery, drapes, and bedding. Furniture with soft, truly transitional details invite the working parents to relax in their at home hotel suite—from reading on the chaise in a light-filled corner to lounging by the fireplace with their feet kicked up on the ottoman. To bring special attention to the fireplace sitting area, we accented walls with a patterned chocolate brown and gold wallpaper, changed the flooring to a distressed walnut, added softness with a light-colored silk and wool rug, and topped it all off with a gilded mirror above the newly stained mantel. The overall ambiance of the room provides a spacious yet warm and inviting retreat.
