About the Project
As seen on HGTV's "Designer's Challenge" this working couple challenged us to transform their master suite into a getaway retreat. We selected a dramatic mahogany four-poster bed to fill the unusually high-ceilinged volume. This unique bed then became the focal point of the room, and we embellished it by selecting colorful textured fabrics and pillows. To reinforce the retreat-like atmosphere, we included two seating groupings. One area includes a luxurious mohair chaise lounge located by the window to allow the couple to enjoy their mountain view. The second seating area includes two lounge chairs and an ottoman which encourages relaxing and reading by the fireplace. The overall ambiance of the room provides a whimsical yet elegant escape for these active, working parents.
