About the Project
Originally designed in 1963 by LA architect John Chapman, this house epitomizes the indoor/outdoor Modern experience, complete with architectural details such as an interior entry garden which houses a 20 foot tall ficus tree. We designed an interior that would compliment this zen-like garden experience and the client's extensive Asian art collection by drawing from a subdued Eastern color palette and a variety of textures. Our furniture selections blend vintage pieces with hip new elements - many of which we custom designed to meet specific client requests - including an L-shaped sofa, a modular cherry wood credenza, and a flexible-use cherry wood and glass coffee table that can be configured in three different ways. This interior is a great environment for the dot com mogul owner to meditate or socialize in.
